We are aware of the high value and the indispensable integrity of your data, be it personal or company-related. On this page, we inform you about the processing of your personal data in connection with webinars we organize, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Our goal is to provide you with a safe, risk-free service, and we vouch that your information will remain confidential and be used only for the purposes stated.

Your personal data

Personal data is any information relating to you as an individual. As part of our webinars we process personal data you provide to us, typically including:

  • A valid (professional or private) email address
  • First and last name
  • Any further professional or private contact data: phone number, professional position, status in the company

We collect this data directly from you, or from the person who registers you for the webinar.

Purpose

The personal information you enter is processed for the following purposes:

  • To conduct webinars via the Zoom platform, to enable your participation (Art. 6(1)(a), (b) GDPR)
  • To send webinar invitations by newsletter via the Zoom platform, to enable your participation and let us keep track of participants (Art. 6(1)(a), (b), (f) GDPR)
  • With separate consent and active participation via the chat function, as part of recording the webinars in order to make them available to other participants afterwards (Art. 6(1)(a), (f) GDPR)
  • During the webinar, we record participants, their attendance (time of joining and leaving) and any voluntary active participation in chat and surveys — necessary for organization, processing and issuing certificates of participation (Art. 6(1)(b), (f) GDPR)

Use of Zoom

We use the platform Zoom to organize and run webinars, integrated as a processor in compliance with data protection law. For registration, Zoom collects: first name, last name, email address, city, address, postal code, company/organization, and optionally job title and number of employees. Any collection or processing performed here by Zoom is Zoom's own responsibility — up to this point, Zoom is the controller in the data protection sense. You can find more detail in Zoom's own privacy policy.

Following registration, Zoom transmits this information to Bilendo GmbH, Fürstenfelder Str. 9, 80331 Munich, which is the controller for the webinars themselves. Where Bilendo uses further third parties to provide the services offered, it is entitled to pass on your data to them insofar as necessary for the technical administration and maintenance of Bilendo's products, and will keep its privacy policy current on this point.

Technical requirements

A webinar is a seminar delivered by internet technology, conducted via the webinar provider Zoom. Participants use their own computer, internet access, browser and other equipment needed to take part. Participation happens via a web app; the link is sent in advance, and in the virtual seminar room the participant can follow the presentation and, depending on the seminar, download documents or ask questions.

You must ensure your own technical setup meets the seminar's requirements before booking, as specified by Zoom (current system requirements: Zoom system requirements). Use with mobile devices of any brand is at your own risk; the organizer accepts no liability for their use. We recommend checking access to the webinar at least 30 minutes before it starts, so any issue can still be resolved.

Inadmissible content

You are solely responsible for the content you send us as part of the webinars. The information you submit must be truthful and must not violate third-party rights, public law regulations or public decency ("inadmissible content"). You will indemnify us against any claims arising from information with inadmissible content that you provide to us.

To whom is personal data disclosed?

Bilendo will never share, sell, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties for payment.

Your rights

Insofar as we process your personal data, you have several data protection rights against us. You have the right to:

  • Request information about the data stored about you, its origin, the purpose of processing and the recipients or categories of recipients of the data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Under certain conditions, demand correction, restriction of processing, or deletion of your personal data (Art. 16–18 GDPR)
  • Request the transfer of your data to another controller (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Complain about our data processing to us or to a competent data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
  • Should you also want your data deleted at Zoom, contact Zoom directly and arrange the deletion there — via the contact given in Zoom's privacy policy.

Service disruptions, changes to the service, or deletion of data

Bilendo does not guarantee that webinars will be available at specific times, and does not rule out disruptions, interruptions or a possible failure of a webinar. Insofar as data is transmitted to Bilendo in any form, you are advised to make your own backup copies. Bilendo reserves the right to remove a publication at any time without giving reasons — there is no right to publication — and to change, expand, restrict or discontinue the webinar service entirely at any time. Bilendo accepts no liability for deleted data or data loss as a result.

Notice of changes

Should we change our approach to data protection, the changes will be posted on our homepage, so visitors always know what information we collect, how we use it, and whether we pass it on to third parties.
